Abstract

Paying attention to the necessity of developing a knowledge-based economy in its broad sense, which means finding the importance of knowledge in creating added economic value, has been brought up in recent decades in the country mainly by scientific and research institutions and with a linear perspective, and entered into the country's macro policy environment. Is.
The repeated emphasis of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the centrality of science in national power and wealth and the scientific and technological progress of the country has also caused the need to develop a knowledge-based economy to be considered as one of the important issues in public policy. With the approval of the law establishing the Ministry of Science and the formation of the President's Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor, important steps were taken in the 1980s to create specialized institutions in governance structures in this regard, but there were still parallels and overlaps between the missions of these two institutions.
In this regard and in order to strengthen theoretical discussions in the field of knowledge-based economy policymaking with the recent approach, the Journal of Strategic Studies of Public Policy published a special issue on knowledge-based economy. More than 30 research titles related to knowledge-based economy policymaking were sent to the journal, and among them, more than 10 abstract titles were approved for publication in the special issue, and finally, 6 article titles were approved in the refereeing process in the form of a special issue. It is in front of you.
An attempt has been made to select the articles in such a way that the case study regarding the main dimensions of knowledge-based economy policymaking, including policymaking institutions, public policymaking infrastructures, and thematic policies, will be considered.
